Call for works: Catalogue raisonné of Marcelle Cahn
The Comité Marcelle Cahn is a cultural and scientific association bringing together curators, art historians and gallerists around this historic artist, who contributed from the 1920s to the 1970s, to the purist, constructivist and concrete developments of modern abstraction. Mireille Cordonnier-Kraft’s thesis, completed in 1995, marked the first major step towards a catalogue raisonné of Marcelle Cahn’s work. Under the direction of Serge Lemoine and with the support of Galerie Jocelyn Wolff, the Comité Marcelle Cahn seeks to update, complete and expand on this first milestone in order to share it with researchers and enthusiasts in the form of an online database. The aim of this online catalogue raisonné is to broaden our knowledge of her original and complex work. With this in mind, the Comité Marcelle Cahn is launching a public call for entries to the catalogue raisonné of Marcelle Cahn’s work. The Comité will confidentially examine the works submitted for inclusion in the catalogue raisonné using the techniques and methods at its disposal in complete independence, freedom and objectivity. Collectors, institutions and museums in possession of one or more works by the artist are invited to contact the following address: catalogue.raisonne@comitemarcellecahn.org
